“The summer immersion program at Lauder is a good way of getting us to bond before meeting the rest of the class.” - MBA/MA student
Degrees: MBA & Master of Arts in International Studies
Schools: Wharton School of Business & University of Pennsylvania’s Lauder Institute
Program Length: 24 months
Overview: This joint degree program in international management prepares students to assume positions of leadership in global business. It creates a small, tight-knit community of students who are passionate about international management issues and global studies. The program is designed for students who already have advanced second-language skills, emphasizing cross-cultural studies. Students select one of nine advanced language training tracks in Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Japanese, Hindi, German, French, Chinese (Mandarin), and Arabic. To obtain both degrees, students must take summer courses, as well as complete an eight-week summer immersion program abroad before beginning classes at the Wharton School of Business. Prior to completing the program, students work in teams on a research project that demonstrates their learning across regional, linguistic, and disciplinary boundaries.
