Dual MBA Programs: Is a Dual Degree Right for Me? (Part 1)

MBA Program ProfilesTime
Dual MBA degrees take longer to obtain than a single MBA.  More time in school means more money spent on tuition, meaning more debt to pay off after graduation.  More time in school also means more time spent outside of the working world.  Dual degree candidates can spend as many as six or seven years out of the workforce and in school.  This translates to a huge amount of potential salary earnings lost over this time.  Before pursuing a dual degree, carefully consider whether you want to invest this amount of money in your education.Элитная металлочерепица. Career Goals
Unless you have a very clear idea of how their dual degree relates to their future career goals, pursuing a dual degree can also be a waste of time, energy and money.  Before pursuing a dual degree, make sure that you really need both degrees in order to accomplish your career goals.  For instance, if you know for certain that you want to practice law and you do not want to work in business, there is no point in getting a JD/MBA.  On the other hand, if you want to go into management of a fine arts organization, a dual MBA/MFA might just give you the credentials you need to snag your dream job.
